TED NUGENT's 'Spirit Of The Wild' Underway With Biggest Season To Date

September 8, 2008

In the great outdoors, rock 'n' roll's foremost hunter and hero Ted Nugent reigns supreme. With his hit Outdoor Channel hunting show "Ted Nugent Spirit of the Wild", Ted has solidified himself as one of the most prominent and revered figures in outdoor culture. Through a combination of woodsman savvy, razor sharp wit and articulate musings on wilderness survival, he stands alone as a show host. In the midst of another successful summer of rock, Ted launched "Spirit of the Wild"'s latest and greatest season on July 1.

The show has become a massive success on the wildly popular Outdoor Channel. The channel has more than 31 million subscribers, and it's available to more than 80 million homes. On-air and online, the Outdoor Channel is the hub for millions of folks passionate about all things outdoors. Airing three times a week, year-round, "Spirit of the Wild" is a landmark show for the network, and it's brought this folk culture to a whole new audience. At this year's annual Golden Moose Awards, Ted and his wife Shemane were voted "Fan Favorite Show Hosts." "Spirit of the Wild" is also a four-time winner of the prestigious People's Choice Golden Moose Award. It's been the #1 hunting show on the Outdoor Channel for four years. However, as always with Ted, he's about to take things to the next level.

The latest season of "Spirit of the Wild" follows Ted and Shemane on hunting, fishing, trapping, off-roading and hiking expeditions across breathtaking landscapes alongside their children and assorted guests. The family dynamic is exuberant and explosive, and it's hard for viewers to change the channel. Unlike standard hunting programs, family values prove just as important for survival as a bow and arrow do. Says Ted: "Celebrating a lifetime of hands-on conservation, the Nugent family's passion and genuine believability has brought not only legions of new, young viewers to the Outdoor Channel, but actually recruited them into gung-ho outdoors enthusiasts. The Nugent's Spirit of the Wild American Dream is America's dream TV show."
